AGE DETAILS
Age on race day
- Teams are placed in an age group based on the age of the oldest teammate.
- Example: a 7-year-old and a 9-year-old will race in the 8–9 category.
- If teammates span non-consecutive age groups (for example, 6–7 & 10–11), the team will race Sunday in the Open category.
Open Category
- Open is for all ages, only available on Sunday.
- Teams are timed, but no podium rankings or prizes are awarded
- This category allows kids to race together when age ranges or capacity don’t fit standard divisions
Team Member: If you haven't figured who you are racing with, put your own name in twice. This will flag the system and we will make changes later.
HOW WAVES & COURSES WORK -
Every course runs the same incredible obstacles — cargo nets, slip-and-slides, ropes, mud obstacle and more. The only thing that changes from one course to the next is the distance and how much biking is involved. Kids race in teams of two, help each other along the way, and every racer crosses the same finish line to the same cheering crowd. There's a perfect fit for every age and comfort level — here's how to choose. Saturday and Sunday include three start waves.
Course length and difficulty vary by wave.
Wave selection is designed to set kids up for success, not to sort them by speed alone. Experience questions help us guide placement, especially for the 10–11 age group.
Longest Course — Saturday wave 3 (our biggest challenge)
Heads up: if enough teams want it, we may move the Longest Course to its own race day on Friday. Anyone registered for Saturday wave 3 would be contacted before anything changed.
Best for: experienced racers 10-11 and 12–14 who want the full adventure.
Our longest distance ~4 miles and the most obstacles up to 15. This is for kids who've raced before — here or elsewhere — love a tough day out, and want to push themselves. Demanding, but absolutely achievable for seasoned young adventurers.
Extended Course — Saturday wave 1 & 2 (our middle distance) -
Best for: ages 8–9 with a bit of adventure under their belt, or confident first-time 10–11 racers.
A step up in distance and climbing (from the Sunday course) ~3 miles, same great obstacles. Challenging enough to feel like a real accomplishment, but very doable for active kids who are up for it. Not sure if they're ready? They almost certainly are — teammates and volunteers are with them the whole way.
Standard Course — Sunday (our shortest)
Best for: ages 6-7, 8–9 first-time racers, and the Open category.
The friendliest way to experience the Races. Our shortest distance ~2.5 miles with 12 obstacles and gentler terrain — but the same amazing features the big kids tackle, just scaled for younger legs. If your child is new, a little nervous, or on the younger side, this is the one. They'll finish proud.
SKILLS CLINICS (OPTIONAL)
